Juanita Ka’āhanui is a Honolulu Museum of Art Award winning painter channeling ancestral fire and cultural sovereignty. As the 14th great-granddaughter of Aztec Emperor Moctezuma II, granddaughter of a California Indian Residential School survivor, and mother and wife to Kanaka ʻŌiwi, she creates bold works rooted in survival and resilience. Standing on the foundations of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, Juanita is disrupting the traditional art world by claiming her value in her lifetime and selling her originals directly with full transparency. Her work has appeared on CBS Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., and was recently contracted for Netflix’s UNTAMED Season 2.
